Green Bay Set for First-Ever Horizon League Championship Game

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Women's Soccer team is set to play in its first-ever Horizon League Championship tomorrow against Milwaukee. The Panthers are the league's No. 1 seed and will host the Phoenix at Engelmann Stadium tomorrow at 1 p.m. CST.

Green Bay comes into the matchup after a 2-1 win over No. 2 Northern Kentucky yesterday. Laney Stark scored a brace to lead the Phoenix to the win.

The Panthers have won the last seven Horizon League titles and hold an all-time record of 35-7-2 against the Phoenix. Green Bay and Milwaukee have squared off five times in conference tournament play (MCC and Horizon League), with MKE holding a 5-0 record.

The two teams squared off just a week ago on October 29, when Milwaukee downed GB by a score of 3-2. The Panthers scored the game's first three goals before Green Bay came roaring back with two late goals before ultimately falling. GB's last win against Milwaukee came on Oct. 8, 2014, when they beat MKE 2-0 at home.

The Phoenix has found its groove late in the season, going 5-1 in its last six. The lone loss came at Milwaukee on Oct. 29. During that stretch, the Green & White has outscored opponents 11-6.

With a win, Green Bay would gain an NCAA Tournament berth for the first time in program history.

The contest will be streamed on ESPN+, and live stats will be available. For complete Championship information, visit this website.
