GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay men's basketball team shot 52.4-percent from beyond the arc en route to a 67-64 win over UC-Santa Barbara at the Kress Center Wednesday night.
Marcus Hall led the Phoenix (6-7) with a season-high 25 points. Preston Ruedinger tacked on eight points and a career-high 13 assists. Ramel Bethea, Keegan Van Kauwenberg, and Mac Wrecke each added six points.
UCSB was led by Aidan Mahaney with 18 points, followed by CJ Shaw, Colin Smith, and Hosana Kitenge, who scored 10 points each.

In the postgame press conference, coach Gottlieb announced that he will be taking a break from the Gottlieb Show on Fox Sports Radio for the time being.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Green Bay led early, going up 15-4, including nine points from Hall with 15:58 left in the first half. The Phoenix held its lead the remainder of the first half, going up 42-30 going into the locker room at halftime. Green Bay relied on its three-point shooting in the first half, knocking down 10 shots from deep to account for 30 of its 42 points.
The Phoenix was up 51-42 before UCSB went on a 9-1 run, capped off by a Smith three-point play to cut it to 52-50 with 7:22 to go. However, the Phoenix struck back, going on a 9-2 run of their own, finished by a Caden Wilkens layup, giving them a 61-52 lead with 4:26 left. UCSB battled back and cut the Phoenix lead to one multiple times down the stretch, but was unable to get over the hump. The Gauchos had the ball down three points with seven seconds left and failed to take a shot before the clock hit zero. Â

» The Phoenix made over half of their attempts from three-point range, knocking down 11 of 21 shots.
» Preston Ruedinger racked up 13 assists for Green Bay, matching the seventh-most assists in a single game in Green Bay history.
» The Phoenix put on a passing clinic, recording an assist on 82 percent of made field goals.
