Phoenix Golf Finishes Weekend at WIU Intercollegiate

MACOMB, Ill. – The Green Bay men's and women's golf teams completed the WIU Intercollegiate yesterday at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. The men's team finished tied for sixth out of nine teams while the women finished fifth out of five.

The Green Bay men shot +61 as a team to tie Chicago State in sixth place after three rounds. The Phoenix was led by Mason Haupt, who finished T11 with a +9 overall. Haupt's weekend was highlighted by a par 71 in round two on Friday afternoon. Brett Wieland was the second-highest Phoenix finisher, tying for 24th with a +17. Yinta Yang finished tied for 34th with a +20 and Trent Meyer rounded out the scoring for GB with a +23, tying for 39th place.

The Phoenix women were led by a solid outing 12th place finish from Ellie Frisch, who finished +24. Riley Pechinksi finished in 22nd after finishing with a +33. Caylie Kotlowski fired off a 74 (+3) in the final round of the weekend to finish in 23rd with a +35. Jordan Shipshock rounded out the GB scoring, tying for 30th with a +52.

The Phoenix men will be back in action right away, playing at NKU's Jewell Invitational tomorrow and Tuesday. The tournament will take place at Elks Run GC in Batavia, Ohio.
