INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Green Bay women's basketball's
Jenna Guyer was selected as the Horizon League Women's Winter Scholar-Athlete, the League announced Thursday afternoon. Lukas Lang of Youngstown State Indoor Track & Field was selected for the men.
Guyer is a seven-time Horizon League Academic Honor Roll member and was named to the Valeo #HLWBB All-Academic Team earlier this year. Guyer was also the Horizon League Player of the Year, and an All-League First Team and All-Defensive Team selection.
The Circle Pines, Minn., native won the Horizon League Tournament MVP Award after leading Green Bay to its third consecutive HL Tournament Championship. Averaged 17.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in the postseason tournament. Guyer led the team on the year, averaging 14.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. She also racked up five double-doubles on the season.
The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes at the conclusion of each of its three athletic seasons as the Scholar-Athlete of the Season. To be eligible for Scholar-Athlete of the Season consideration, a student-athlete must be a member of that sport's current year all-academic team. Honorees are selected based on a combination of athletic and academic achievement by the League's faculty athletics representatives.
