GREEN BAY, Wis.
(GreenBayPhoenix.com) - After the Green Bay (6-0) women's basketball team posted a 3-0 record in
the Caribbean Challenge with wins over Hartford (1-6), Penn State (6-1) and
Utah (3-3), All-Tournament Team awards were announced late Sunday night with
two Phoenix players recognized.
Senior Celeste Hoewisch (Hortonville, Wis.) was named the
Tournament MVP of the Lagoon Division while classmate Kayla Tetschlag
(Sheboygan, Wis.) was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Hoewisch averaged 13.3 points per game throughout the
tournament while pouring in a career high 28 points in Green Bay's 79-74 win
over Penn State on Nov. 26. In addition, Hoewisch sank one of her five three
pointers against the Lady Lions to become the 25th member of the 1,000-point club
at Green Bay.
Meanwhile Tetschlag averaged 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per
game while dishing out a team high 11 assists. Tetschlag sparked the Phoenix in
its 78-44 win over Hartford Nov. 25 leading all players with 16 points
throughout 22 minutes of play.
Green Bay outscored its opponents 19.7 ppg while shooting an
average of 83 from the free-throw line.
The Phoenix is back to work preparing for its game against
