KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Green Bay men's tennis team (2-2) had its two-match winning streak snapped Friday night at Western Michigan, falling by a 7-0 count at the West Hills Athletic Club. It was the first of eight straight matches on the road for the Phoenix.
The Broncos, which are a perfect 7-0 on the young season, claimed each singles match in straight sets. The closest match came at No. 5 singles, where freshman Josh Oothoudt (Minot, N.D.) a 6-3, 6-4 defeat.
Paul Swanson (Coon Rapids, Minn.) moved up to the top line in singles, and suffered his first loss of the year, a 6-4, 6-2 decision.
The Phoenix returns to action Saturday at DePaul at 5 p.m.
