GREEN BAY, Wis.
(GREENBAYPHOENIX.com) - The Green Bay men's soccer team wrapped up its home
exhibition series with a 0-0 draw against UW-Oshkosh after playing three
shortened periods of 35, 30 and 30 minutes, respectively.
The Phoenix outshot the Titans 24-6 and did not allowing Oshkosh to
fire a shot in the final period. Green
Bay fired nine shots in the first period, seven in the second and eight in the
third. Midfielder JC Banks
(Milwaukee, Wis.) led the Phoenix with five shots while freshman Lawrence Talery (Coon Rapids, Minn.)
added four.
Goalkeeper Ryan
Wehking (St. Louis, Mo.) had three saves in the defensive battle. In
addition, Green Bay had eight corner kicks compared to the Titans' one.
Green Bay will wrap up exhibition play on the road Saturday
at Eastern Illinois with kickoff set for noon. The Phoenix opens its regular
season at home, Wednesday, Sept. 1, hosting DePaul at 7 p.m.
