GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) -
New Green Bay women's basketball head coach Kevin Borseth
has announced his decision to retain assistant coaches Amanda Leonhard-Perry
and Sarah Bronk on his staff. Borseth was introduced as the fourth coach in
Green Bay history at a news conference April, 5.
"Every day continuity and competency is important for our players," said
Borseth. "They both bring a lot to the table as far as their organization,
their enthusiasm and their recruiting skills."
Leonhard-Perry, a former four-year standout (1999-02) and three-year
starter under Borseth on the Green Bay women's basketball team, begins her
fifth season as an assistant coach for her alma mater. Along with assisting in
coaching the Phoenix guards, Leonhard-Perry aids with recruiting, camps and
film breakdown.
"I was going to hire Amanda during my first tenure at Green Bay but she
had just accepted an assistant position at NDSU a few days prior, so I
respected her decision," Borseth said. "As a former player of mine, I'm happy
to have her on staff with us."
"I'm honored to be coaching alongside coach Borseth, who has taught me
so much throughout both my playing and coaching career," Leonhard-Perry said.
"I'm very excited for this opportunity."
Bronk enters her sixth season with Green Bay as an assistant. Bronk's
responsibilities with the Phoenix include coordinating recruiting efforts and
working with the team's post players.
"I'm really honored to be asked to stay on staff with coach Borseth and
play an integral part of this program," Bronk said. "I'm excited to see where
this program will continue to go under his leadership."
A 1999 graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn.,
Bronk was a three-year letter winner for the Tommies in softball and aided her
team in two NCAA regional appearances.
"Sarah is very high energy, is very organized and prompt," said Borseth. "She is liked and respected around the Green Bay community and team."
The remainder of Borseth's staff will be named at a later date.
