KALAMAZOO, Mich. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green
Bay men's tennis team (2-0) picked up its second win in as many days on
Saturday, trouncing IPFW 7-0 in a neutral-site contest at West Hills Athletic
Club in Kalamazoo, Mich. The Phoenix swept all three doubles and all six
singles matches, winning all but one in straight sets.
Green Bay finished off the three doubles matches in
order, beginning with an 8-4 victory by Michael Tenzer (Neuried, Germany) and Rowan Isaaks (London, England) at No. 1 over IPFW's Joao Freitas and Daniel Kang.
The tandem of Howard Scott (Exeter,
England) and Michael Tebon
(Excelsior, Minn.) secured the doubles point for the Phoenix with an 8-4 win at
No. 2 over Connor Andrews and Martin Muadi.
In singles action, senior Craig Cox (Surrey, England) took down Kang in straight sets (6-4,
6-4) at the No. 1 spot, while freshman Leopold Gomez Islinger (Weiden, Germany) knocked off Andrews at No. 2 (6-1, 6-0). Also
earning singles wins for Green Bay were Isaaks at No. 3 (6-3, 6-2), Joey Leto (Downers Grove, Ill.) at No.
4 (6-0, 4-6, 6-3), Scott at No. 5 (6-0, 6-2) and Tebon at No. 6 (6-1, 7-5).
The Phoenix is back in action tomorrow in Milwaukee,
taking on IUPUI at noon.
