GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay Athletics Department announced today the creation of a scheduled and organized opportunity to hear from alumni, fans, supporters and students. The Phoenix Fan Council is being established to provide valuable feedback regarding the fan experience, gameday environment, branding, increasing season ticket sales and marketing efforts at Green Bay basketball home games.

For 2018-19, the Phoenix Fan Council will engage and listen to fans about their experiences and suggestions regarding the Green Bay men's basketball gameday atmosphere and increasing ticket sales and attendance. The Phoenix Fan Council will meet three times on the UW-Green Bay campus, starting in late October, and all members will serve on that committee for the duration of the basketball season.

Fan Councils will be created for other sports and aspects of the GB Athletics Department in future years.

"We are excited about creating the Phoenix Fan Council and this new opportunity to hear from our fans," said Charles Guthrie, Director of Athletics. "Green Bay has passionate and loyal alumni, students and fans and we want to engage them on a regular basis and get their feedback on all aspects of our gameday experience."

The Phoenix Fan Council members will have one-year terms, with the inaugural term starting this season. Fans interested in applying for the Phoenix Fan Council should visit www.greenbayphoenix.com/FanCouncil to fill out the application.

The first Phoenix Fan Council meeting will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018; with subsequent meetings on January 9 and April 10. Meetings will be held on campus during the lunch hour.
