Scott Wachholz and the Green Bay softball program have signed four recruits to National Letters of Intent, all of which will join the Phoenix roster in 2019-20. Green Bay welcomes Becca Edwards, Randi McKay, Meg Miklesh and Dawn Pawlak to the program.
Becca Edwards
Position: First base and outfield
Hometown: Salem, Wisconsin
High School: Westosha Central
Bats/Throws: L/L
Accomplishments: First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Area, First Team All-State 2018 Offensive POY
Academics- received high honor roll all semesters at high school, maintain above a 3.5 GPA unweighted
Edwards on choosing Green Bay:
"I chose the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay because of the feeling I got when I walked onto campus. It felt as if it was just a perfect fit: a beautiful campus, a supportive staff, and the chance to play softball at such a competitive level."
Coach Wachholz on Edwards:
"Becca Edwards is a big bat for us in this class. She already has that professional hitter mentality you want to see and prides herself on being a great situational hitter with how she prepares for each at-bat. We are excited to see her compete at this level."
Randi McKay
Position: P/UT
Hometown: Downers Grove, IL
High School: Downers Grove South
Bats/Throws: R/R
Accomplishments: All-Conference all 4 years, 2017 All-Area Honorable mention, 2017 Most Outstanding MVP, 2018 2nd team All-Area, 4 year Honor Roll.
McKay on choosing Green Bay:
"Everything from the campus to the softball program and the upcoming facility renovations, UW-Green Bay felt like the perfect fit. I was immediately set on perusing my education and softball career here."
Coach Wachholz on McKay:
"Randi has played at a high level for a long time and understands what it takes to compete. We are excited to add her athleticism to our program. She can compete anywhere defensively and her prowess in the circle will be a great addition to our young pitching staff."
Meg Miklesh
Position: Utility
Hometown: Plover, Wisconsin
High school: Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH)
Bats/Throws: Right/Right
Accomplishments: First Team All-Conference Honoree
Miklesh on choosing Green Bay:
"I chose to be a Phoenix because of the opportunity to play softball at the highest level while being surrounded by players that want to succeed as much as I do. My first visit made me feel as if I was already home. I am so thankful to be given the chance to continue my education and follow my dreams of playing collegiate softball."
Coach Wachholz on Miklesh:
"Meg has really transformed as a softball player over the last year. She is a tremendous athlete: a former gymnast and a great volleyball player. She definitely knows how to compete and has done it well in a variety of situations. We are excited for her ability to contribute in a multitude of positions."
Dawn Pawlak
Position: IF
Hometown: Hammond, Indiana
High School: Gavit High School
Bats/Throws: Right/Right

Pawlak on choosing Green Bay:
"University of Wisconsin-Green Bay felt like home to me. I fell in love with the campus and knew it was where I belonged on my first visit. The coaching staff and team were so welcoming and amazing in getting to know me. I am extremely blessed to continue playing the sport that I love at the highest level and continue flourishing my education here at Green Bay. I can't wait to be here next year and represent the Phoenix program!"
Coach Wachholz on Pawlak:
"She is an exciting kid to watch, she has a great knack for the game and is constantly putting herself in the right positions to try to help her team. She has tremendous upside as she continues to grow and keeps getting stronger. We look forward to her versatility on the diamond."
