Rhinelander, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay Nordic Skiing team concluded their season this past weekend at U.S. Ski Hall of Fame SuperTour 2018 in Ishpeming, Michigan at the Al Qual Trails. On Saturday, the Phoenix raced in the freestyle 20k/15K races and on Sunday the squad competed in the 10K/5K classic. Full results can be found

Saturday's women's 15K resulted in a top-25 finish from redshirt junior
Mykaela McMullen. She took 22
nd overall with a finishing time of 49:18.4. Rounding out the top three Phoenix finishers for the ladies included freshman
Anna Zajakowski with a time of 53:20.3 and sophomore
Oda Karlsen Bekkestad with a 54:05.3. They took 34
th and 35
th, respectively. Redshirt freshman Maria Shoening was not far behind, crossing the line at 54:20.9 for 37
th.

Tom Woolhouse led the men in the 20K, with senior
Jake Ajax only four seconds behind. Woolhouse crossed the line at 55:24.0, in 38
th place overall, while Ajax took 39
th in 55:28.8. Redshirt freshman
Sam Myers was the third Green Bay man to finish, earning 42
nd with a time of 55:42.0. Redshirt sophomore

Shad Kraftson, and redshirt sophomore
Cory Rouw also raced for the Phoenix, taking 44
th, 46
th, and 49
th, respectively.
McMullen was the top finisher for the women again on Sunday, this time in the 5K. This time, she rounded out the top 20 racers, finishing with a quick 16:54.5. Karlsen Bekkestad took 28
th in 17:32.9, while redshirt junior
Maddie McKeefry competed and was the third Phoenix to finish, taking 31
st in 17:59.0. Zajakowski placed 34
th and Schoening took 42
nd to conclude the race.
For the men's 10K, Ajax was the clear leader, taking 30
th out of over 60 competitors with a time of 27:26.9 in his last race. Rouw had a fast time as well, placing 38
th in 28:14.0. Myers took 43
rd in 28:39.0 to round out the top three Phoenix. Woolhouse was not too far off, earning 45
th, while Kraftson crossed the line to place 49
th overall.
The Phoenix Ski team has finished their regular season. Qualifiers will be announced next week, on February 26, to compete at the NCAA Championships from March 8 through March 10 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
