GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay athletics department is excited to roll out a new, clean and more consistent look as part of an overall athletics rebranding effort. These additional logos and wordmarks will create a more consistent look across all platforms through a new "GB" logo, colors, wordmarks and uniform numbers set.
"It's not uncommon for intercollegiate athletic programs to refresh their brand from time to time, and we felt now was the time to rejuvenate Green Bay's athletic word and number marks," said Director of Athletics Charles Guthrie. "The new additions provide us a cutting-edge look and will deliver consistency across our various channels in representing the Phoenix. We're delighted to unveil this exciting venture to the campus and Green Bay community."
Pottsville-based Joe Bosack & Co., a national brand consulting and graphic design agency that has a diverse portfolio of both collegiate and professional sports teams, created the new look. GB Athletics, with the help and advice of University Marketing and Communications, began the design process this past spring and has begun implementing these logos and marks in all projects.
The Green Bay "bird" logo, which made its debut in summer 2007, will still be seen throughout uniforms, apparel and facilities during the 2018-19 season and beyond. New uniforms and facility enhancements will seek to incorporate the new "GB" logo and marks.
The Green Bay volleyball team will be the first to unveil the logo on uniforms in the fall. Campus signage, team uniforms, and other official athletic gear will be rolled out to every athletic team over the coming seasons. New merchandise will be available at the Phoenix Bookstore in mid-September with more gear and apparel coming in throughout the year.
The new logo isn't the only addition and announcement that will excite Phoenix fans moving forward. The department will also be announcing a state-of-the-art upgrade to one of the University's premiere facilities on campus, additional enhancements to other areas of on-campus athletic facilities and exciting news surrounding Green Bay Athletics in the coming weeks.
