DETROIT, Mich. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay fell behind 10-0 to start the game and was never able to catch up, falling 101-83 to Detroit Mercy at Calihan Hall on Thursday night. GB (9-8, 3-1 HL) made just seven of its 27 3-point attempts, while Detroit Mercy (7-10, 4-1 HL) made 14 of its 31 attempts, also forcing the Phoenix into 19 turnovers.
The Titans led by as many as 28 points at one point, and opened the second half with a 14-0 scoring run to put the game away early.
Kameron Hankerson, playing in front of friends and family in his return to the Detroit area, finished with a team-high 17 points on 5-for-9 shooting.
ShanQuan Hemphill (13 pts) and
JayQuan McCloud (13 pts) also finished in double-figures.
The Phoenix will look to bounce back quickly, when it visits Oakland on Saturday afternoon to conclude its Detroit roadswing. GB and the Golden Grizzlies will tip at 3 p.m. ET at the O'rena.
