DAYTON, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- A slow start to the second half, with Wright State scoring 10 of the first 12 points, eventually helped in handing Green Bay an 87-65 loss on Saturday night at the WSU Nutter Center. GB (10-12, 4-5 HL) has now lost five of its last six overall, and will return home to host in-state rival Milwaukee next Friday (Feb. 1) night on campus for the second annual Krash the Kress game.
Wright State (12-10, 6-3 HL) shot 54.5 percent (30-55) in the game, and poured in 50 points in the paint, and another 44 points off the bench. GB shot shot over 50 percent in the first half, but could never get closer than nine points in the second half after WSU opened on its 10-2 run.Â
JayQuan McCloud led the Phoenix with 18 points and six assists, while
Kameron Hankerson chipped in with 16 points and
Josh McNair added 13.Â
GB and Milwaukee will tip-off at 7 p.m. at the Kress Center next Friday, before hitting the road for the Cleveland State-Youngstown State road trip.Â
