Phoenix Soars Past Century Mark, Scores Highest Total in Division I Era

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- All 10 members who took the floor for Green Bay on Saturday night at the Kress Center scored, with seven reaching double figures in the 115-64 victory over UW-Stout. The Phoenix soared past the century mark in the 2019-20 home opener, tying the program's single-game record for points scored.

It was a wire-to-wire win for Green Bay, who opened the game with an 11-0 run over the visiting Blue Devils. The Phoenix didn't slow pace from there and went on to lead things 23-5 after just over seven minutes had ticked off the clock.

At the half, GB had constructed a 50-33 advantage and was shooting an even 50% from the field at 22-44. The Phoenix defense seemed to suffocate the Blue Devils, who had already tallied 18 of their eventual 31 turnovers.

Green Bay scored 65 points in the second half and held Stout to 31, cruising to a 115-64 victory in its home opener.

PJ Pipes and Cody Schwartz led the Phoenix attack with 17 points apiece, which bests Pipes' career-best mark of 16 set against Youngstown State last season. Amari Davis (15), Josh McNair (13), JayQuan McCloud (11), Kam Hankerson (11) and Will Chevalier (10) all reached double-digit scoring numbers for Green Bay.

Green Bay hits the road next week for a matchup at New Mexico on Wednesday, with tip-off slated for 8 p.m. at Dreamstyle Arena.
