ISHPEMING, Mich. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) ---The Green Bay Nordic skiing team faced their last regular CCSA race of the season this weekend, heading north to take part in Northern Michigan's course. The Phoenix completed a mass start classic on Saturday and an individual skate on Sunday.

Day One
The men were the epitome of a pack, with five Phoenix placing one after another on day one. Redshirt sophomore
Tom Woolhouse had a strong finish, stopping the clock first at 1:01:26.7 for 20th overall. Behind him was redshirt senior
Jake Ajax at 1:01:33.1, closely followed by sophomore
Shad Kraftson, coming in at 1:01:33.7 to round out the top three scorers.

Sadie Peterson continues to prove herself as the top Green Bay skier on either side of the roster, however. The redshirt sophomore made her way to a comfortable 8th place in the race, clocking in at 52:14.77. Redshirt senior
Maddie McKeefry finished 18th with a time of 55:11.8 in the long race, while redshirt sophomore
Maria Schoening took 22nd in 57:34.4.

Day Two
In the quicker of the two races, Ajax pulled ahead, placing 20th and earning a time of 27:53.1 to lead the Phoenix. Kraftson was consistent, taking home another 22nd place with his 28:08.1. This time, redshirt junior
Quinn Duffy moved into the scoring trio, putting up a time of 28:26.2.

Peterson moved up a couple ranks on day two, finishing sixth in the field. She turned in a time of 14:48.1, just tenths ahead of a Wildcat foe. Schoening showed strong improvement as well, making her way to 14th with a time of 15:32.6. The scorers were a similar group to the previous day, with McKeefry coming in third for the Green Bay. The oldest skier placed 23rd overall in 16:11.2.

The Green Bay Nordic Ski team will take on their biggest competition of the season thus far in two weeks: the CCSA Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
