Green Bay Locked into No. 4 Seed for Motor City Madness After NKU Takes Season Finale

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay will enter Motor City Madness locked into the No. 4 seed, after falling 86-82 to league-champion Northern Kentucky in the regular season finale at the Resch Center on Saturday afternoon. Senior Sandy Cohen III was honored before the game, and finished with a team-high 25 points after playing all 40 minutes.

The Phoenix (16-15, 10-8 HL) would have moved up to the 3rd-seed with a win, but will still get the benefit of playing a home game in the Quarterfinals. GB will now face No. 5 seed UIC after the Flames won at Detroit Mercy and Oakland defeated IUPUI. GB swept UIC in the two meetings during the regular season, and used a 19-point comeback in Chicago to steal the win on Feb. 22. GB won 90-85 at home on Jan. 19.

GB and NKU (23-8, 13-5 HL) entered the half tied at 41-41, but the Norse shot 56.7 percent (17-30) in the second half and 7-for-16 from 3-point range. GB finished just 9-for-27 from 3-point, including a 3-for-15 effort in the second half alone.
