Box Score LAWRENCE, Kan. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay wrapped up its three-game series at Kansas on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Jayhawks, 5-4, after two-run seventh inning from KU to claim the sweep of the Phoenix.
Kansas 5, Green Bay 4
It was the fourth game of the season decided by one run for Green Bay, as the Phoenix found itself on the losing end, 5-4, after jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning.
The Jayhawks chipped away at the GB advantage with each passing inning, plating one run in each of the first three inning before bringing two home in the bottom of the seventh after a two RBI double to left-center field from KU's Ramsey to seal the win and sweep for Kansas.
Morgan Bihun and
Greta Thompson each notched multi-hit afternoons against the Kansas pitching staff, while
Alyssa Brewer finished with three RBIs.
Brittany Baneck put in the majority of the work in the circle for Green Bay, dealing for three innings while allowing three hits and three runs.
Kayla Schwebke pitched two innings and allowed only one hit and no runs.
Green Bay now shifts its focus to Horizon League play, as it readies for a three-game series with Wright State next weekend.
