ISHPEMING, Mich. - The Green Bay Nordic Ski team spent the weekend competing in the Northern Michigan Invitational, as both teams turned in impressive results between the two days.
On the men's side, Sam Myers paced the Phoenix on Saturday covering the 10k course in 29:51. Shad Kraftson finished second on the team with 30:38 followed by CJ Young (31:20), Ryan Thieme (31:48) and Thomas Woolhouse (32:07).
Sunday's freestyle was led by Kraftson, who covered the 20K in 55:51. Myers followed closely behind with 55:40 to help the men finish third on the day and defeat Saint Scholastica.
Maria Schoening led Saturday's race on the women's side with 18:36 and freshman Grace Collier turned in 21:20 in the 5K. Schoening again paced the Phoenix on Sunday with 51:52 and Collier covered her first collegiate 15K in 59:04.
Green Bay is back in action on Feb. 6 when the Phoenix competes in the CSS Invitational in Rhinelander, Wis.
