GREEN BAY, Wis. – It was a successful trip for both Green Bay men's and women's golf teams as both squads are near the end of the fall 2022 season. The men were competing at the Tom Tontimonia Invite in Westlake, Ohio, and the women were at the Shirley Spork Invitational in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

TOM TONTIMONIA INVITE – MEN

Joe Forsting picked up where he left off Monday, notching a 72 (+1) in Tuesday's third-round action. Forsting finished the tournament tied for second overall. He shot par (71) in round two and was under par (-1) in the opening round yesterday morning. Austin Schnell continued to show consistency, putting up a 74 (+3) in the third round after doing the same in round two yesterday, completing the invite in a tie for 28th overall. Zak Kulka was just one stroke behind Schnell when the tournament concluded, finishing with 221 total strokes (+8), best for a tie in 32nd place out of 78.

The Phoenix tied with IUPUI for ninth overall and was within 11 strokes for a top-five finish.

SHIRLEY SPORK EMU INVITATIONAL - WOMEN

Jenna Anderson led the Phoenix on day three, shooting a 77 (+5). However, Ashley Kulka finished atop the team leaderboard with a 79 (+7) on Tuesday afternoon. Kulka completed the tournament tied for 17th overall. Ellie Frisch, a true freshman, had a solid invite, finishing the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational in a tie for 28th overall. She was just three strokes back of Kulka (235 total).

Green Bay was within three strokes of a three-way tie for fifth place in the tournament, finishing just behind Loyola and Bowling Green.

COMING UP
The men will head south for the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate in Jonesboro, Arkansas next Monday and Tuesday. They have two tournaments remaining this fall, while the women have just one, which is this Saturday and Sunday.
