Green Bay Women's Soccer Adds 13 to 2022 Roster

GREEN BAY, Wis. - First-year women's soccer head coach Julie Grutzner announced 13 additions to the Green Bay women's soccer roster on Thursday afternoon. Grutzner enters her first season at the helm of the program after taking over as the interim head coach in October of 2021 before being appointed as the head coach on December 22, 2021.
 
AUDREY CASSATA | FR. | MIDFIELDER | ROCKTON, ILL. | HONONEGAH COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL

Coach Grutzner on Cassata:
"Audrey excelled at one of our ID camps early on in the recruiting process. We knew straight away we wanted her to wear the Green and White. A strong midfielder who plays for the Rockford Raptors SC (Ill.), Audrey is a solid presence in the middle. She will battle for the ball, win aerial attacks, and dominate the middle. We can't wait to see Audrey develop at Green Bay."

"Getting to know Katelyn over the past couple of years we are excited to get a player of her caliber into our program, her leadership will make our culture even stronger. Katelyn is a strong offensive player who can finish in front of the goal. She was named Second Team All-State as a junior and competes for the Madison 56ers SC. She can hold the ball to find a teammate and will help us improve our attack with her strength and finishing abilities."

"We are lucky to add another dynamic Wisconsin athlete to Green Bay, what drew us to Payton was her competitive desire on the field and her continuous desire to grow off the field. Payton is a solid goalkeeper for Oregon High School. A stand-out basketball player as well, she has great hands and cuts off angles well. Earning honorable mention all-state, Payton had 11 shutouts on her team's run to the state semi-finals last season."

Coach Grutzner on Morales:
"Another player identified at our ID Camp, Natalia stood out immediately with her passion to win possession and lightning-fast transition play. Her charismatic personality and desire to win will set her up for success in our program. Natalia plays for Cincinnati United (Ohio) and is a central midfielder with great technical abilities. She plays to possess with simple one-two touch passes. Her touch on the ball is exceptional, and she will add a spark to our midfield."

Coach Grutzner on Morgano:
"Getting to know Sierra over the last few months we are even more excited for her to join our Phoenix family. Her caring and compassionate leadership style will drive our culture forward. A strong center back from SC Wave (Wis.), Sierra is a solid presence on the back line. She wins tackles, battles in the air, and can distribute from the back. She will add strength and stability to our defensive line for many years to come."

"Zoey embodies everything we look for in a future Phoenix, from her strong leadership qualities to her positive personality we are looking forward to seeing her blend right into the team. Coming off a great junior year and being named Second Team All-State, Zoey has all the tools to be a successful forward. A teammate of Fishnick, White, and Blau with the Madison 56ers SC, she is fast, makes excellent runs off the ball, and takes players on in the attack. Another great addition to our forward line."

"We are excited to have Morgan finally join our program, she has been all in with her great attitude and dedication to Green Bay over the last couple of seasons. Her high character and compassion along with her competitive edge will raise the level of our program immediately. Morgan is joining our program from a strong Indiana Fire club and is a member of Noblesville HS's back-to-back state championships. She is a hard-working outside back who battles for the ball. Morgan's strength and size bring a strong presence to our back line."

She reads the game well, and she will add speed and quickness to our defensive group."

"When we first saw Savannah we couldn't pass up the opportunity to add an electric attacking outside back to our program. Savannah's calming demeanor adds stability to our locker room, and her flare on the field will boost our play. Savannah is a solid outside back from Burlington Force Academy in Ontario, Canada. Her speed and ability to play on the flanks will add to our offensive attack. She is a solid 1v1 defender who is feisty and can play out of the back."

She will create scoring opportunities for us with her vision and movement this fall. I am excited to see how her abilities translate to the Horizon League."

We knew right away after talking to her that she would fit well with our family culture. Bailey is a First Team All-American from Indian Hills Community College (Iowa). She has a knack for the goal, scoring 25 goals while dishing out 15 assists this past fall. We are excited to add her to our offense as her speed, finishing abilities, and ability to take players on makes her a threat anywhere on the field."
