WEEK IN REVIEW

NORDIC SKI
The Green Bay Nordic Ski team was in Duluth, Minnesota last weekend at the Salomon CXC Cup. Ryan Thieme led the Phoenix men, placing eighth in the freestyle sprint with a time of 2:47.37. Derek Waddick finished 22nd in 2:54.47. Lilly Franzen paced the Phoenix women, finishing 46th in 3:38.23. Chelsey Johnson and Silje Busklein finished in 52nd and 53rd to round out the top three for Green Bay.

Noah Erickson paced Green Bay in the classic interval start on Sunday, finishing 25th in 19:36.6. Ryan Thieme and Derek Waddick were right behind Erickson, placing 26th (19.39.3) and 29th (19:53.7). Silje Busklein led the Phoenix women finishing 39th in 24:29.1.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Green Bay men's basketball fell to Western Illinois 68-59 this past Saturday at the Resch Center. Noah Reynolds led Green Bay with 14 points. David Douglas Jr. and Clarence Cummings III each added 11 points off the Phoenix bench. Green Bay dropped to 4-6 this season, as Western Illinois improved to 5-6.

Elijah Jones helped Green Bay grab a huge win at UIC last night, tipping in a shot with 0.5 seconds remaining to give the Phoenix a 70-68 victory over the Flames. Reynolds missed a floating jump shot off the glass before Jones made the game-defining play.

SWIM & DIVE
The Green Bay diving team hosted its Diving Invitational at Peter F. Dorschel Natatorium Friday night, hosting UW-Oshkosh, UW-Stevens Point, Lawrence, and St. Norbert.

Annie Frederickson, a freshman, finished with a score of 254.85 in the one-meter dive, placing fourth all-time on Green Bay's top-10 performances list. Frederickson finished top 10 all-time on the three-meter board, placing ninth with a score of 247.70.

Junior Andy Groebner earned a personal record of 267.55 in the three-meter. Groebner scored 278.40 points in the one-meter competition, good for 10th place all-time on GB's top 10 performances. On his one-meter dive, Groebner completed a forward 2.5 summersault and received a score of 7.5 from all five judges, which is a rarity.

MEN'S SOCCER
Hesron Barry received another postseason accolade from the United Soccer Coaches Association (USCA). He was named to the All-American Third Team, two days after being one of three Phoenix tabbed to the USCA All-Region teams. Barry is the first men's soccer All-American since JC Banks in 2009 and is the eighth Phoenix men's soccer player to claim All-American status. The last time a Horizon League player was named All-American by the USCA was UIC's Jesus Perez in 2019. To view the official release from the USCA, click here.
