Reinke Wins Coach of the Year, Kulka and Maleki Named #HLGOLF Second Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Unwavering success continues for the Green Bay women's golf team this spring. On Friday morning, the Horizon League announced the All-League accolades for men's and women's golf. Lee Reinke won Women's Golf Coach of the Year, while Ashley Kulka and Isabelle Maleki were tabbed All-League Second Team.

After guiding GB to the program's first-ever Horizon League title on Tuesday, Reinke takes home GB's first-ever Coach of the Year award. He took over the program in 2015 as the Director of Men's and Women's Golf. Reinke has been influential this season on and off the links, with the GB women's golf team boasting an impressive 3.8 grade-point average, the highest in the Green Bay Athletics department. He has coached seven players who have garnered All-League selections in his eight seasons as head coach, including Kulka and Maleki.

Ashley Kulka, one of four graduate students alongside Maleki, impressed this spring with four top-five finishes, including a fourth-place completion at the Horizon League Golf Championships. She highlighted the spring with a third-place finish in GB's opening spring tournament, the NKU Invitational.

Maleki was sensational this spring, finishing in the top 10 in four of GB's five meets. Her play was highlighted by a second-place individual finish at the Indiana State Invitational, helping the Phoenix win consecutive tournaments. She was ninth at the NKU Invitational, eighth at the Stampede at the Creek, and completed the Horizon League Championships in fifth place.

Green Bay was on fire this spring, notching back-to-back tournament wins, first at the NKU Invitational before claiming the top spot out of six squads at the Indiana State Invitational. GB won their first-ever Horizon League Championship on Tuesday by a remarkable 12 strokes. As the automatic qualifier from the Horizon League, the Phoenix will head to Pullman, Washington for the NCAA Regional from May 8-10 (link).
