MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Green Bay men's soccer team lost to Milwaukee 2-1 in a Horizon League contest on Saturday night. The Panthers scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute by Fernando Pirry, assisted by Dominic Zuniga.
Green Bay dropped to 4-6-1 and 1-3-1 in the HL. Milwaukee improved to 3-5-6 and 2-0-3 in the HL.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Neither team scored before a GB foul led to a Milwaukee penalty kick in which Angel Gongora broke the scoreless tie in the 36
th minute. Green Bay responded before the half ended when
Noah Madrigal tied the match up at one with his third goal of the season in the 44
th minute.
Dennis Nyame and
Keegan Walker each assisted on the goal.
Oesterbaek had three saves in the first 20 minutes of the second half; however, the Panthers eventually took the lead via Pirry.
Chris Album had a late shot in the final minute, but Panther's goalkeeper Nic Diana was there for the save.
GAME NOTES
- Madrigal led all players in the match with five shots.
- Oesterbaek had four saves in six Milwaukee shots on goal.
- Green Bay outshot Milwaukee 15-13.
- Milwaukee had three yellow cards while Green Bay had two.
