COLUMBUS, Ohio - It was a tough day for the Green Bay softball team in Columbus, as the Phoenix fell to Ohio State 10-0. The Buckeyes' offense scored in bunches and racked up the 10 runs in the first three innings, ending the game in five innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Although the Phoenix fell 10-0, OSU outhit Green Bay just 10-6. Green Bay had seven opportunities with runners in scoring position but went 0-for-7 in those opportunities against OSU starting pitcher Kassandra Gewecke.

Ohio State scored three runs in the first and second innings, followed up by four more in the third to make it 10-0. Ava Schill started and took the loss for the Phoenix, while Genesis Eggart pitched two innings in relief.Â

GAME NOTES
» Schill led the Phoenix at the plate, going 2-for-2.
» Ohio State was led offensively by sophomore Jasmyn Burns, who went 2-for-2 with a double, a home run, and four RBI.
» Gewecke led the Buckeyes pitching staff, throwing five shutout innings.

Green Bay will continue its road trip tomorrow with a doubleheader against Bowling Green starting at noon. Following, Robert Morris will come to Green Bay this weekend for a three-game set.
