DETROIT, Mich. – The Green Bay men's soccer team dropped its second Horizon League game of the 2025 season, falling at Detroit Mercy on Saturday, 2-1.

The Phoenix dropped to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in Horizon League play. GB remains at three points in the league standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Detroit Mercy's Clayton Lafayette gave the Titans an early 1-0 lead on their first shot of the match in the 24th minute. GB outshot Detroit Mercy 4-2 in the first half but were only able to register one shot on goal.

In a shot-heavy second half, Guershom Sylvain was able to extend the Titans' lead in the 72nd minute. Each team tallied 10 shots apiece in the second half. Green Bay's Keegan Walker scored just over 10 minutes later on a penalty kick, cutting the deficit in half in the 83rd minute. Walker had another shot attempt in the 87th minute but was unable to capitalize as the Titans secured the three points.

Green Bay returns home on Tuesday, as it faces off against Bradley for a non-conference game before returning to HL play on Sept. 27 against IU Indy. Kickoff against Bradley is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT at Festival Foods Field at Aldo Santaga Stadium.
