INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Green Bay Swim & Dive team wrapped up day two at the Horizon League Championships in Indianapolis, Ind., Thursday night
. The Phoenix also competed in the 200 medley relay, women's 3-meter dive, and the 800 free relay on Wednesday.
DAY ONE
Annie Frederickson and
Rachel Everson highlighted day one for the Phoenix, finishing eighth and 12th in the 3-meter, respectively. Frederickson competed in the Championship Final, the first rime a GB women's diver has done so in 10 years, finishing with a score of 223.65 in the finals for eighth place. In the Consolation Final, Everson finished with a score of 220.90.
Both the Phoenix men and women finished sixth in the 800 free relay, while the GB men finished fifth in the 200 medley relay.
DAY TWO
Mackenzie Barnett and
Gemma Fibla Miralles led Green Bay in the 500 free. Barnett was in the Championship Final, touching the wall sixth with a time of 4:58.51. Barnett is the first GB women's swimmer to make the Championship Final in the event in nine years. Fibla Miralles raced in the Consolation Final, finishing 11th overall with a time of 5:01.40. On the men's side,
Stefan Tica was in the Consolation Final and finished 12th with a time of 4:29.88, breaking the Phoenix freshman record in the event.
Chris Aristondo highlighted the Phoenix men in the 200 IM, competing in the Consolation Final and finishing 16th with a 1:52.79.
Another Phoenix in a Consolation Final was
Emily Allen, who finished 13th in the 50 free with a time of 23.91.
In the 200 free relay, the Phoenix women finished sixth while the men came in seventh.
