Indianapolis, Ind. – On Thursday afternoon the Horizon League announced it's 2026 Valeo #HLSD All-Academic Teams.
A pair of Phoenix swimmers were named:
Mackenzie Barnett and
Kaleb Lombard, both displayed academic excellence this season along with their success in the pool. Barnett had a stellar year in the classroom and the pool, with a 4.0 GPA studying Psychology. She also placed sixth in the 500 freestyle and ninth in the mile at the Horizon League Championships. Lombard achieved a 3.84 GPA majoring in Actuarial Science and finished 16
th in the 200 butterfly at the conference meet.
To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests.
