GREEN BAY, Wis. - Sidney Lamotte collected four RBIs, but the Green Bay Phoenix fell to the Oakland Golden Grizzlies 10-7 on Saturday in their regular season finale.
Jasmyn Trigueros (5-10) came out of the bullpen for Green Bay (14-29, 8-10) and took the loss. Morgan Kostecka was a bright spot for the Phoenix, coming out of the bullpen as well and throwing four innings, giving up one run on four hits, with three walks and four strikeouts.
LaMotte went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run in addition to her four RBIs for the Phoenix. Bella Herman put together a standout performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sara Ebner also chipped in for Green Bay, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Phoenix was trailing 4-0, before immediately responding with four runs of their own in the bottom of the first, highlighted by LaMotte's two-tun double.
The Golden Grizzlies then scored five runs over the next two innings to retake their advantage, when the Phoenix responded by getting back on the scoreboard themselves in the bottom half of the third. Green Bay picked up a run on LaMotte's leadoff home run off of Kenna Bommarito, which tightened the Golden Grizzlies lead to 9-5.
Green Bay held the Golden Grizzlies off the board before narrowing the gap to 9-6 in the fourth after another RBI hit from LaMotte that scored Paige Guse.
