INDIANAPOLIS -
The Green Bay men's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the 2009 Horizon League Men's Tennis Championship with its 4-1 victory over Wright State.
The Phoenix battled hard in doubles action to claim the first point of the match. Matt Clegg and Matt Keesey paired for an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles, while Mike Wesley and Brian McCarthy posted an 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Green Bay added two more points with straight-set wins by Paul Swanson at No. 2 and Wesley at No. 6 singles. Wright State battled back with a victory at No. 3 singles, but Matt Keesey's come-from-behind win at No. 5 singles put the match away for the Phoenix.
The Phoenix will take on top-seeded Cleveland State Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The Vikings advanced with a 4-0 win over Youngstown State.
