The Green Bay men's tennis team was unable to upset top-seeded Cleveland State Saturday in the semifinals of the 2009 Horizon League Championship, as the Phoenix dropped a 4-0 decision to the Vikings.
With the setback, Green Bay will take on Butler Sunday morning in the third-place contest.
Cleveland State registered the first point of the day by dominating the doubles portion of the match, securing wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The Vikings then posted a trio of wins in singles action to advance to the championship.
Green Bay's Paul Swanson won his first set against Ryan Hamning at No. 2 singles but was unable to secure a point for Green Bay before the match was decided.
