CLEVELAND,
Ohio - Green Bay saw its five-match winning streak halted and dropped its first
Horizon League match of the season Saturday afternoon after a 5-2 loss to
Cleveland State. The Phoenix now owns a 10-6 overall mark, and is 2-1 in
conference play.
Green
Bay won two of the six singles matches, with both coming in straight sets. Cleveland
State won all three doubles matches. The Vikings have now won 18 consecutive
Horizon League matches dating back to April of 2008.
At
No. 3, Matt Clegg (Stevens Point, Wis.) secured a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Rob
Fox. The Phoenix also claimed a victory at No. 6, where Josh Oothoudt (Minot,
N.D.) cruised to a 6-1, 6-4 triumph over Jay Jones.
Green
Bay returns to action Sunday morning at Youngstown State.
