DAYTON, Ohio - The Green Bay men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 defeat at Wright State Saturday afternoon in its final road match of the regular season.
Green Bay's points both came in singles play. After failing to win a game in the first set, Matt Clegg (Stevens Point, Wis.) earned an improbable come-from-behind three-set win at No. 3. He defeated Landon Neuman by a 0-6, 6-2, 6-3 count.
Henning Jess (Kaltenkirchen, Germany) was the other Phoenix winner, as he grabbed a 2-6, 7-6, 10-3 triumph in the fifth spot. Jess also played well in doubles, as he and Josh Oothoudt (Minot, N.D.) teamed up for an 8-2 victory at No. 3 singles.
Green Bay wraps up its regular season at home Sunday, April 11, against Detroit.
