VALPARAISO, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The No. 12/9 Green Bay (18-0, 8-0 HL) women's basketball team will look to improve to 19-0 as it wraps up the first half of Horizon League play at Valparaiso (5-14, 1-7 HL) Saturday at Athletics Recreation Center at 1:35 p.m.

With Green Bay's recent 60-36 win over Butler Jan. 26, including Baylor (20-0), the Phoenix remains one of two unbeaten teams in the country. Green Bay's 38th consecutive regular season winning streak is the longest in program history.

Green Bay senior Julie Wojta (Francis Creek, Wis.) is just nine rebounds shy of becoming one of the programs top ten rebounders. The 6'0" forward has grabbed 690 rebounds in a Phoenix uniform. Wojta's game-high 15 points at Butler moved her into tenth on the all-time scoring list with 1,333 career points.

With its 34 consecutive regular-season wins against conference opponents, Green Bay leads the Horizon League in nine statistical categories including scoring offense (74.4), scoring defense (52.2), scoring margin (+22.1), free throw percentage (.803), field goal percentage (.446), assists (18.0), steals (12.9), turnover margin (+11.8) and assist/turnover ratio (1.1).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: Due to injuries and illnesses this season, only three Crusaders have appeared in all 18 games. Gina Lange, Tabitha Gerardot, and Ashley Varner are the only Crusaders that have played in each contest. Valpo is averaging 52.7 points per game while shooting 35 percent from the field. Gerardot leads Valpo's starting five with an average of 12.4 points per game while Varner leads the way on the boards with 9.4 rebounds per contest.

ABOUT THE SERIES: Green Bay owns an overall series record of 22-4 against the Crusaders and is 9-2 at the ARC. The two teams last met Feb. 24, 2011 at the Kress Events Center in Green Bay. The Phoenix won the contest 75-48 as Wojta posted a double double with 10 points while grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds. Lydia Bauer (Lake Zurich, Ill.) came off the bench to lead all scorers with 13 points.

UP NEXT: Green Bay returns to the confines of the Kress Events Center Saturday, Feb. 4 as it hosts Milwaukee (6-12, 2-6 HL) at 7 p.m.
