GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay men's tennis team picked up a pair of home wins over nationally ranked Division III opponents on Sunday, defeating Chicago University and UW-Whitewater by 7-0 decisions at Western Racquet and Fitness Club.

The Phoenix went unbeaten in singles play and won five of the six doubles matches to improve to 8-1 on the year and 5-0 on its home court.

In the opener against No. 11 Chicago, Green Bay dominated in singles action by cruising to straight-set victories in all six matches. At the No. 1 spot, junior Erik Finkenbrink (Duelman, Germany) defeated Chicago's Jan Stefanski 6-3, 6-0. Finkenbrink also paired up with classmate Craig Cox (Surrey, England) for a win in the top doubles spot, beating Ankur Bhargava and Deepak Sabada 8-5.

In the late match against the 21st-ranked Warhawks, the Phoenix took four of the six singles contests in straight sets after securing the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and 2 spots.

Freshman standout Michael Tenzer (Neuried, Germany) dominated at No. 1 singles, routing UW-Whitewater's Byron Balkin 6-0, 6-3. Tenzer also teamed up with fellow freshman Felix Goepper (Seelbach, Germany) to win at No. 2 doubles, defeating Andrew Bayliss and Andy McGlashen 8-4.
