MADISON, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay men's tennis team (8-3) dropped a 7-0 decision to in-state rival Wisconsin (4-4) on Saturday at the Neilsen Tennis Stadium in Madison. It marked the second straight loss for the Phoenix, while the Badgers improved to 4-0 at home this season.

Wisconsin took two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point, and then won each of the six singles contests in the sweep.

The lone victory for the Phoenix on Saturday came at the No. 1 doubles spot, as freshmen Michael Tenzer (Neuried, Germany) and Felix Goepper (Seelbach, Germany) paired up to defeat Wisconsin's Fredrik Ask and Billy Bertha 8-6.

With the Badgers prevailing 8-6 at the No. 2 spot, the doubles point was up for grabs in the deciding No. 3 contest. The Phoenix duo of Michael Tebon (Excelsior, Minn.) and Paul Swanson (Coon Rapids, MInn.) forced a tiebreaker and led in the early going, but Wisconsin's Alex Robles and Rod Carey rallied back to earn the 9-8 (7-5) win.

In singles action, Swanson forced a third set in his No. 3 match. The senior took set two 6-1 against Petr Satral after dropping a tight 6-4 result in the first set. Satral recovered, however, and secured the win with a 10-8 victory in the final set.

Green Bay is set to begin a three-match stretch in Florida over spring break later this month. The Phoenix will face Webber (March 12), Lynn University (March 14) and Abraham Baldwin (March 15) in Orlando, Fla.
