Audi Jepson Named Horizon Offensive Player of the Week

By Patrick Stumpf

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – After a dramatic come-from behind win in Madison followed by a shutout win over Belmont, junior Audi Jepson (Green Bay, Wis.) was recognized as the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.

Jepson (six points) was a catalyst in the Phoenix's win over in-state-rival Wisconsin on Wednesday, collecting his third goal of the season after beating the Badger goalie Adrian Remeniuk from 25 yards out. The Green Bay native found forward William Nordenstrom for the game-tying strike in the 49th minute, before the Phoenix went on to beat UW, 3-2.

On Saturday night, Jepson continued his strong play against another conference opponent, Belmont, first converting on a penalty kick in the 44th minute, before connecting with Nordenstrom for the second time in three nights later in the match for the clincher in the Phoenix's 3-0 victory.

It's the first weekly honor Green Bay has garnered this season, and first since Sidney McClain last November.

Jeremy Bonomo's Phoenix (3-5-2, 1-1-1 Horizon League) will look to extend its winning streak to three at Aldo Santaga Stadium on Saturday night when it hosts Detroit (3-2-6, 0-0-3) at 7 p.m.
