YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's tennis team began a two-city weekend roadtrip in Ohio on Saturday, defeating Youngstown State 4-3 at the YSU Tennis Courts.

The Phoenix (10-6, 3-1 HL) garnered the doubles point after 6-3 wins by the pairings of Leo Gomez Islinger/Florian Kraenzler and Howard Scott/Joey Leto at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.

In singles, seniors Scott (7-6, 6-4) and Gomez Islinger (6-3, 6-0) claimed victories at No. 1 and No. 2, while Kraenzler (0-6, 7-6, 6-3) and Joshua Schramm (6-1, 6-2) dropped decisions at No. 3 and No. 4.

Finally, freshman Matej Kostadinov clinched the Green Bay win with a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 6, improving to 4-1 in singles, while his classmate Charlie Ridout dropped a three-set tiebreak, 6-7, 6-2, 6-1.

The Phoenix will travel to Cleveland tonight before taking on the Vikings (11-9, 1-2 HL) tomorrow morning at 10 a.m..
