HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season schedule on Sunday morning, sweeping Northern Kentucky 7-0 at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex in Highland Heights, Ky.

Green Bay garnered the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, before proceeding to win all six singles matches against the Norse (8-6, 3-3 HL). It marked the team's third sweep this season and second on the road, with the other two coming on Feb. 26 vs. UW-Whitewater, and March 15 at Olivet Nazarene.

The match began with the Phoenix duos of Leo Gomez Islinger and Florian Kraenzler and Howard Scott and Joey Leto tallying wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, 6-0 and 7-6 (2), respectively, while the freshman pair of Miles McDowall and Matej Kostadinov fell at No. 3, 6-4. 

In singles, Scott recorded a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 win over NKU's Mate Virag, notching his fourth consecutive win at the top spot, while Gomez Islinger got back on track with a straight-set victory over Jody Maginley at No. 2, 6-3, 7-5. The remaining four matches all came in straight sets, with the exception of Kraenzler's tiebreak victory at No. 3, 5-7, 7-6 (4), 10-7.   

Winners of fours-straight matches and six of its last seven, the Phoenix (12-6, 5-1 HL) now eye a trip to Ann Arbor, Mich., where it will look to defend its Horizon League title next weekend at the University of Michigan from April 29 - May 1.
