Green Bay Gives 21st-Ranked Oregon a Scare in Eugene Before Falling 83-72

Eugene, Ore. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Trailing by just four points with less than two minutes left in the game, Green Bay went toe to toe with 21st-ranked Oregon on Tuesday night at Matthew Knight Arena, before eventually falling 83-72 in its final game of the 2K Empire Classic. The Phoenix (3-3) finish 2-1 in its Pacific Northwest swing, captured the 2K Subregional Championship and gave the Pac-12's preseason favorite a scare along the way.

Down by only four at 74-70 after a Sandy Cohen III 3-pointer, GB was whistled for a foul, leading to a pair of free throws from Oregon. The Ducks then scored five more points to cap off a 7-0 run to escape the potential upset. Cohen finished with a team-high 18 points and six assists, while JayQuan McCloud and ShanQuan Hemphill each added 10 points.

The Phoenix will now return home for holiday break, returning home for three of its next four games.
