OMAHA, Neb. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Sandy Cohen III scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season, but Green Bay fell 86-65 to Creighton on Friday night at the CHI Health Center. The Phoenix (6-5) trailed by just four at 58-54 with just under 12 minutes to play, but Creighton (7-3) answered with a 14-2 run to take a 16-point lead. GB would never get closer than 12 points the rest of the way.
GB was facing a tall task in visiting Creighton, who is now 70-6 at home in nonconference games, and has been receiving votes in both national polls throughout the season. Every time the Phoenix got within striking distance of an upset, the Blue Jays would answer with one of their 14 made 3-pointers.
Green Bay will take a travel day on Saturday before visiting 9th-ranked Michigan State on Sunday (Dec. 16) at 4 p.m. CT. The Spartans lead the all-time series 6-0 and the two teams have not met since 2007. The game will be televised live on the Big Ten Network.
