WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Green Bay men's tennis team dropped a pair of 4-2 decisions on Saturday at the Basham Courts on the campus of Purdue University. GB fell 4-2 to Butler in its first match of the day, before falling again in a tightly contested 4-2 to Purdue, nearly pulling out the win.

Head coach Tim Dean on Purdue match: "We played great doubles and it was another fast and exciting start. Singles was close on every court as well. I'm proud of the guys effort against the Big Ten opponent and we learned a lot today that we can play with anyone. Purdue got the big points at important turning points in the match and pulled it out."

Dean on Butler match: "I felt we started slow in doubles. Butler played well and beat us. Some chances and opportunities in doubles where we just needed to finish the point. We are moving some things around in singles, and that cost us at the bottom. Butler is a solid team that played with a lot of energy and passion."

GB will face South Dakota State tomorrow morning on Marquette's campus in Milwaukee.
