MADISON Wis. - The Green Bay men's tennis team faced with Wisconsin for the second time this season, falling again 4-0 in Madison in nonconference action.
GB dropped the doubles point and then fell at No. 4, No. 3 and No. 6 singles. Florian Kraenzler won his first set 6-4 at No. 1 singles and was trailing in the second set when Wisconsin secured the fourth point.
The Phoenix (4-7) now has only two nonconference matches remaining this season, and will play both of those at home at Western Racquet next weekend. GB will face UW-Whitewater on Friday (Mar. 9) night at 6:30 p.m. and will host Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday (Mar. 10) at 12:30 p.m.
Head coach Tim Dean on the match: "The guys played hard today. The Badgers are a very strong team. We played well, but they played that much better today. Florian had a great first set and James Ling was grinding in a tight match and first set. Both James and Florian were up a break in doubles, but we just have to start faster."
