GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's tennis team took their second-straight Horizon League match of the season this weekend, defeating Northern Kentucky 5-2 (2-10, 0-4 HL).
The Phoenix played hard in singles action, cinching the win despite the doubles point going to the Norse. However, the team of
Charlie Croxford and
Miles McDowall continued their win streak, having not lost a Horizon League doubles match yet.
"It was a tough match," said head coach
Tim Dean. "We started a little slow in doubles but found the energy in singles to get the win. James played fantastic singles today. Miles and Charlie have been playing solid doubles. We have to find some energy with the other pairs as the doubles point will be big as the season goes on. Overall, I'm satisfied with our play and getting a win on the road."
Green Bay (8-9, 2-2 HL) will continue their away weekend tomorrow (Sunday, April 8) with a match against Wright State at 12:00 p.m. CT.
