Green Bay Clutches Up Late to Take Down Youngstown State 99-93 in Overtime

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay converted its final 12 free throws of the game and used a 10-0 run in overtime to take down Youngstown State at the Resch Center on Thursday night, 99-93. The Phoenix (8-7, 2-0 HL) improves to 2-0 in league play and 3-0 at the Resch this season, while the Penguins (4-12, 0-3 HL) have now lost seven of eight.

JayQuan McCloud led GB with 24 points, going 9-for-14 from the field. Kameron Hankerson added a season-high 19 points off the bench, shooting 7-for-11 from the field and 4-for-7 from 3.

PJ Pipes tied his career-high with 16 points, while going 8-for-8 at the free throw line. GB teamed up for 9 blocks in the game, a new season-high. 

The Phoenix will look to make it 3-0 in league play when it hosts Cleveland State on Saturday for a 12 p.m. tip. The game will serve as a Hometown Hero game, with all first responders (police, fire, medical, military) receiving free admission. Additionally, the first 500 fans will receive a Star Wars Lightsaber.
