HOME GAME SECURED! Green Bay Escapes Wright State 70-67 to Earn Top 4 Seed

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- It's official, Green Bay will play a home game in the Motor City Madness Quarterfinals next Tuesday (March 5) at the Resch Center. With its 70-67 victory over league-leading Wright State (18-12, 12-5 HL) on Thursday night at the Resch Center, the Phoenix (16-14, 10-7 HL) secured a top 4 seed in the 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship.

Green Bay can finish as high as No. 3 in the standings, but can finish no worse than No. 4. Tickets for the Quarterfinal game next Tuesday can be purchased by calling the Green Bay Phoenix Ticket Office at 920-465-2625 or by purchasing online here.

Senior Sandy Cohen III led GB with a game-high 24 points and 7 rebounds, also adding 3 blocks and 3 assists. GB held the lead for the entire second half, and led by as many as 10 points at various points. Wright State had the ball under its own basket with 1.5 seconds left and trailing by 3, but PJ Pipes guarded Billy Wampler's 3-point attempt and it came up short to give GB the win.

With Oakland defeating UIC and Detroit Mercy beating IUPUI, paired with GB's win over Wright State, the Phoenix was able to lock up a home game. GB is now 9-1 at the Resch Center this season, and it will play its regular season finale there on Saturday at 12 noon against Northern Kentucky before hosting the Quarterfinal game. Cohen will be recognized before the game as the program's only senior.
