MADISON, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) ---The Green Bay men's tennis team took on Wisconsin this afternoon in Madison and fell by the final score of 2-5.
No.3 and No.1 doubles finished first in the match and went the way of the Badgers to give them the first point of the day.
In singles, the squad battled tough and both of their points came in three set victories. Freshman Satchell Benn defeated Wisconsin's Lenard Soha in No. 2 singles 4-6, 6-4, 10-7 for his first singles win of the spring season. Additionally, freshman
Kentaro Mizushima secured No. 4 singles by defeating Wisconsin's Robin Parts 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 for his first singles victory in a Green Bay uniform.
Unfortunately, the Badgers claimed the other four points in singles to earn the victory over the Phoenix.
"We're never happy to lose, but I saw some good signs out of the guys today," stated head coach Rob Oertel. "I believe this group of guys can be special but staying healthy is going to be crucial if we are to have success this spring."
