HOUGHTON, Mich. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) ---The Green Bay Nordic ski team competed at the CCSA Championships this past weekend.
During the 5k skate, freshman
Lara Ketterer was the first to cross the finish line for the Phoenix. Ketterer finished 11
th overall with a time of 16:12.0. Redshirt junior
Maria Schoening finished next with a time of 16:55.8 for 20
th and junior
Anna Zajakowski rounded out the trio with a time of 18:38.3 for 39
th.
In the men's 10k, redshirt sophomore
Ian Ivens took the top spot for Green Bay with a 20
th place finish for a final time of 28:10.5. Junior
Shad Kraftson followed closely behind Ivens, taking 22
nd with a time of 28:20.9. Redshirt junior
Sam Myers rounded out the top three for the Phoenix. Myers finished the race with a time of 28:28.6 for 25
th place.
In the women's 15k classic,
Lara Ketterer once again crossed the finish line first. The freshman finished 11
th overall with a time of 55:41.0.Â
Maria Schoening took 22
nd overall, finishing with a time of 1:02:52.6.
During the men's 20k classic, a flurry of Phoenix crossed a finish line back-to-back-to-back. Redshirt junior finished with a team best time of 1:05:36.5 for 24
th overall.Â
Ian Ivens crossed the finish line next at 1:05:41.1 for 25
th overall, followed by
Sam Myers in 26
th place with a time of 1:05:56.6.
Next for Green Bay are Central Regionals in Ishpeming, Michigan, on February 22
nd and 23
rd.
