DULUTH, Minn. – The Green Bay Nordic Ski team raced at the NCAA Central Regional Skiing Championships this past weekend, with the 7.5k Classic Individual Start on Friday, and the 20k Skate Mass Start on Saturday. The Phoenix finished fourth out of five teams, finishing with 64 points on Friday and 75 on Saturday.
Lilly Franzen led the Phoenix women in the 7.5k, finishing 12th with a time of 24:52.6. On the men's side, the top two finishers were
Noah Erickson and
Grant Rocheleau, who came in 14th and 15th, respectively. Erickson crossed the finish line in 23:54.1, while Rocheleau did so in 24:31.0.
Lizzie Sonnefelt led the Green Bay women on Saturday, finishing the 20k in 55:10.9, good for tenth place. Franzen wasn't far behind, finishing 15th in a time of 57:13.0. The Phoenix men, on the other hand, had three finish in the top 15. Erickson finished 11th with a time of 48:39.5,
Zaine Braaten finished 12th with a 48:40.4, and Rocheleau finished 13th with a 48:42.6.
